Employability

The Big Help Project’s Employability Schemes provide free, intensive support to people struggling to access work, training, or further education. To achieve this, we employ a team of dedicated employability advisors who use their experience in giving accredited advice to formulate individual plans, guide, educate and equip the community with the skills to take the next step in their employability journey.

Clients are referred to employability through engagement with other Big Help Projects, namely Knowsley Foodbank and Big Help Money Advice, Next Steps specific community outreach, word-of-mouth, social media, marketing and organisational partnerships/initiatives (inc. Job Centre). The support workers offer their time completing, but also offering training in, Job Searching, CV Building, Interview Skills, Application Writing, Presentation Skills, Job Preparation/Research and Networking.

To further break down barriers to work, our Suited programme offers clothing and toiletries for interviews as well as reimbursements for travel expenses.
